PHP UPDATES PERFORMED

On 20 March 2008 between 10:30 PM and 3:00 AM the PHP servers were updated as per our email notice sent out to clients on 10 March 2008.

The new default PHP version is PHP 5.2.5, however PHP 4.2.8 is still also available if required. You can now change which PHP version is used by your site in the cpanel (webmaster control panel) by selecting 'PHP Configuration' under the 'Software / Services' category.

If you are seeing any unusual errors on your PHP pages since 20 March 2008 then reverting to PHP4 as shown above will usually correct the problem.

General support documentation is being rewritten due to many recent and forthcoming changes to our hosting services. The welcome email sent to you at the time of signing up will contain most of the information you should need to get started with your account. Clients can login to their Client Area (see login box below) and re-send their own 'welcome' emails using the link provided beside each of their listed packages.

There is also a user manual for the webmaster control panel (cPanel), you will need to login to your cPanel to view it.

Account Login Areas

1) The Client Area

This is the account management area from where you can see billing information (invoices), submit support tickets, order further hosting packages and check news updates.

Generally each client of WiserHosting.com should only have one Client account, with one or more hosting packages under it.


2) The Webmaster Control Panel (cPanel)

This is where you can directly configure many aspects of your websites, email accounts, FTP and MySQL users, monitor web stats, disk space & bandwidth usage, install scripts on your website automatically & more.

Each of your hosting packages comes with its own webmaster Control Panel. The webmaster Control Panel (cPanel) can be accessed using the address format http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel where 'yourdomain.com' is your own domain name (once it is pointing to our nameservers). This address will be automatically redirected to a secure SSL login area.
