IMPORTANT NOTICE - LEGACY WISERHOSTING.COM PACKAGES DISCONTINUED- 30 April 2006 - This notice is for WiserHosting.com clients who are still using legacy hosting accounts i.e. any hosting packages signed up prior to 14 September 2004. As you may already be aware WiserHosting.com now provides the much enhanced 'WiserWeb' range of hosting packages which have been available since September 2004 (see http://www.wiserhosting.com). Our legacy hosting accounts are now actively being phased out and you are required to migrate to our current WiserWeb accounts by 15 June 2006 at the very latest. You are urged to initiate the migration as soon as possible before this deadline. (If you are not the webmaster of your website(s) then please forward this message to the webmaster as soon as possible). EXCEPTIONSIf your website is using our legacy ASP (Active Server Pages) technology, unfortunately you will not be able to migrate to the WiserWeb systems and you should contact us to discuss your options (contact details below). If you have already successfully migrated your legacy account(s) to the WiserWeb packages, or you no longer require it please kindly reply to this email advising us of this, thank you. STEP BY STEP ACTION PLANThe change-over of hosting accounts will require you to take the following steps: 1) Sign up a new account (there is no automatic migration system from legacy packages to the WiserWeb packages since they reside on entirely different systems).
Please be sure to state that you are migrating from a legacy package in the comments box of the order form, along with any special requests or notes, e.g. if you require to have your site contents copied for you to the new account etc. The order form is at: http://www.wiserhosting.com/home/order_web_hosting.html If you do not already have any 'WiserWeb' packages then you will not be able to login to the new Client Area with your existing details; similarly if you try to provide your legacy account username during your order it will not be recognized. You will need to fill out your details on the hosting order form when you place your first WiserWeb order. 2) You will need to upload and configure your site again, or we can copy your site contents from your existing account if requested. 3) Configure your email addresses (mailboxes, forwarders etc.) via the new webmaster control panel (cpanel). 4) If your website uses MySQL database(s) you will also have to dump your MySQL database(s) with the phpMyAdmin tool and import it to the new account. 5) Ask your domain name registrar to change the nameserver settings of your domain name to NS1.WISERHOSTING.CO.UK and NS2.WISERHOSTING.CO.UK when you are ready to go live on the new server. Your registrar may have a special control panel which allows you to do this yourself. (You can find out who your domain name registrar company is at http://www.wiserdomains.co.uk/wiserhosting/whois_in.jsp). We will refund any unused period remaining on your legacy hosting account once you proceed with ordering your new WiserWeb account. We will of course keep your legacy hosting package active whilst you are setting up the new account to keep any potential downtime to an absolute minimum.
